FC Dallas

I decided to take Tucker to see the professional soccer team in Frisco. Usually, John and Tucker will go to professional sports places, but I thought I should give it a try, too! We went with Mimi, who is one of my friends that I work with. She brought along her family and another family friend and her 7 year old son, Joe. Tucker was so excited to meet a new friend. We got to the soccer game early and all I heard from him is "Where is Mimi? Where is Joe?" I am not sure how much soccer was watched, but we still had a great time with our friends. It was my first time going to Pizza Hut Park and it is a really nice stadium. Tucker just loved the atmosphere where beach balls are flying and streamers are flying. It is definately different than going to see the Cowboys or Stars play!

Tucker's preschool had a Spring program called Spring Sing by the Lake. Each class sings one song. Tucker's class sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." He has been practicing for a few weeks. Last week, Ms. Dana, his teacher told me that Tucker has a speaking part (because he is so good at it!) Anyway, she asked me to practice with him yelling, "Popcorn, peanuts, Cracker jacks here". So, when I told Tucker about it, he just said, "I get to be the STAR". His face just lit up and he said that he couldn't wait to tell his kids that he is the star. I just replied, "You are always my star!" I had a little bit of sadness come over me at one point when I realized that this would be Tucker's last spring program for preschool. Next year he will be in kindergarten! Everyone says that time goes so quickly and it is true!

Kindergarten Roundup

This is the week of Kindergarten Roundup. We have been debating on what to do and where we think the little man should go. Does he stay and go to his home school or do we send him to my school district where I KNOW what is going on. Well, after many conversations throughout the year, we decided that Tucker will be going with me. I finally made my way to Tucker's new school to fill out the many pieces of paper to get my child enrolled. (I still need shot records by the way, but that is a whole 'nother blog entry.) The office staff seem excited that T. will be going to school there. The AP mentioned that he didn't know T. I just replied, "Oh, but you will!"

Tucker is VERY excited and keeps asking me everyday, when he can go meet his "new kids." All I know is that I will need to go ahead and start buying bribe gifts for his teacher because I have a feeling that she will be earning her paycheck for the 2008-2009 school year. Don't get me wrong, Tucker will be a great student, but he likes to be in charge. I will never forget the day that I walked into his preschool to pick him up and he is talking to one of the student's parents telling them what their child had done that day.
